The Sacristan is responsible for all preparations before, during and after each weekend, weekday, and special Masses. They prepare Eucharistic bowls and cups and books used during the Mass. Sacristans check microphone batteries, lights and sound system, and prepare the bulletins for usher pickup, and remove them from the racks after Mass. The Sacristan also assists with distribution of communion. After Mass the sacristan is responsible along with an usher for bagging the collection from the entrance in preparation for the next Mass.
