Dear St. Charles Parishioner,

Even before I moved to Lima in 2016, I was excited to learn that good thing were already at work within St. Charles to build leadership and to strengthen our parish life. In 2018, the Pastoral Council developed a new parish mission statement. At the same time, the five commissions were busy developing new strategies and ministries in order to help us further our mission. Most recently, the parish staff has been transformed into a Pastoral Ministry Team with many new faces and lots of energy. Our parish campus has continued to integrate upgrades and improvements to enhance our ministries as we serve both God and neighbor.

Even when the coranavirus turned our life upside down in March 2020, our desire to stay connected and on task to do God’s work was not suppressed. Instead, we sought new means to reach out to those most affected and alternate ways to pray or meet with one another.

As I look back, I see how prayer has been the engine behind it all. Through prayer and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we are always able to further our mission to “live as disciples” who seek to love God and neighbor as Jesus taught.

As we strive to be disciples, good stewardship is certainly a disciple’s response. It is not about paying bills; it is not about bank accounts and collections. Stewardship is about doing the work of Christ, engaging our many resources to further ministry and mission of Jesus Christ. In short, stewardship is understanding that we are all called to share God’s love and grace.

With this in mind, I invite you to join our parish community by responding to our “Called to Share God’s Love and Grace” program. We hope that you can take some time to review the content found on www.stcharleslima.org/CalledToShare and consider the ways that you and your family can help St. Charles continue the work of Christ. Our goal is simple: to substantially increase our Sunday offertory contributions. A special Commitment Sunday will be held on September 19th and 20th 2020 to allow parish family members to connect with our “Called to Share God’s Love and Grace” program by joining financially to support our ministries, further our mission, and reinforce our future.

Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and commitment to St. Charles!

Sincerely In Christ,

Fr. Kent Kaufman – Pastor
